BELIEFS:
We are Jim Achenbach and Sandra Fernandez-Achenbach in Simi Valley, California. We believe that God has called us to serve others.
BACKROUND:
We have done short-term self-funded volunteer outreach work in a thatched library with the jungle residents along the Amazon River of northern Peru (Summer 2003, 2005, 2007, 2008), in Haiti with Praying Pelican Mission to help local churches and visit orphans after the 2010 earthquake (August 2010), and we have visited and helped in orphanages/special schools in the Tijuana/Baja Mexico area several times. Sandra went alone to Zambia, Africa in August 2003 to help at an AIDS orphanage.
After these short-term self-funded mission trips, people we’d met in these countries would call us up or write to us desperately for financial help, and so my husband and I decided to try and start our own nonprofit organization.
Mission Circle International is a Simi Valley, California nonprofit organization and our mission is “Giving to the Givers”. We want to serve in dual partnership with God and fellow man to help organizations that provide Disadvantaged Youth, the Aged, and Disenfranchised people (DYAD) with food, personal necessities, opportunities, experiences, empowerment, and learning resources.
